Hint, hint!

Doesn't this program sound cool?

And the best part is (in fact, every moment I discover another best part), right now, I'm thinking: I'd get to bring my mukluks! Yeah, the Ukrainians will be so jealous...

Oh, gee. Shall I catch you up a bit, blog? Okay, here goes:

On Wednesday afternoon (luckily during my only day off this week), I participated in an interview from my placement officer at the Peace Corps via phone call. My cell phone did not run out of batteries, but only just. After having a deep conversation in which every part of my personal decision to join the Peace Corps was scrutinized--but I am thankful for his asking those questions, they really needed to be asked, and I'm also grateful that Dan and I had asked ourselves these questions already, many, many times--the placement officer, in soft, polite tones, related as to how he felt confident in me and my decision and based on having read my file many times and conducted our interview over the phone, he would like to invite me to serve in the Peace Corps!!!

I felt like Olive in Little Miss Sunshine. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Yet, the Peace Corps mystery continued, for I was to wait until today or tomorrow for the invitation packet to arrive. And arrive it did. But I'm not giving anything away just yet. I've got to take a moment. Just breathe.

Peace!
